Our garden is a small oasis, filled with a mix of beautiful and useful plants that bring colour, life and some nice additions to our food basket. Some plants have been in the house for many years, like the magnolia or the holly trees. When we bring new plants into the garden, we try to choose local species that support insect and bird life. Since rainwater is becoming scarcer, we also choose species that are more resistant to tougher conditions and longer dry periods.

We built the house so we could capture and use most of the rainwater for the garden, reducing the need for public water. Now, our goal is to install storage tanks for circa 5’ooo litres of water, together with the necessary filters and pumps. All to be powered by solar, of course!. Our target amount of €8’000 covers the costs of quality materials and installation work.

Your donation will be effective once the payment has been confirmed via e-mail by Villa Serena.

You should be receiving a message from us with the payment details at the e-mail address you provided in the form. Please check in Inbox and Spam folder and get in touch with us at info@villa-serena.eu if needed.
After the payment has been verified, an e-mail is sent with the gift code(s). These code(s) can then be used to reserve the house in the desired dates, directly at Villa Serena.

Thank you for supporting us! Please note the following:

General conditions

Villa Serena is a private property owned and managed by Paulo Morais. Any contributions to Villa Serena's campaigns are made to a private person, not a company, and are used for the purpose(s) stated above.
The acceptance of any contribution or gift is at the discretion of the owner. It is valid only after review and approval of payment.
1. A donation can be returned in part or fully within 30 (thirty) calendar days. If any amount has to be returned and it is not because of an error or omission from our side, the amount due will be the value received by Villa Serena minus any applicable handling, currency exchange and/or payment processing fees for returning it.
2. The owner will not compensate any third party for directing a gift or a donor to Villa Serena, whether through commissions, finders' fees, or other means. We're too small for this and we want a direct relation to our supporters :)
Depending on the options shown, payments can be made via Bank transfer or with an online payment processor such as Paypal. Any handling, currency exchange and/or payment processing fees on the donor's side should be assumed by the donor.
Confirmations are issued by e-mail. Please keep these for future reference in case any problem or question comes up.
Please contact us via info@villa-serena.eu if any adjustment is needed. We'll find a solution that works well for everyone.

How does it work?

For each donation, a "Thank you" gift is issued by the owner of the house to the donor, according to the personal details provided in the form.
Each "Thank you" gift is valid for a period of 2 (two) years from the date it is issued. The gifts can be split, in case you want to share them with someone or over several stay periods. However, please note that a processing/cleaning fee might apply for each stay.
When making a donation, please indicate in the comments if you prefer the gift in the form of a Free stay or a voucher.
1. The Free stay gift might include a nice extra, depending on the amount and on the availability when booking the house. The extras might be: a dinner for two at a special restaurant, according to your preferences. Or one of our special activities such as a personal yoga lesson or massage by experienced professionals at our house, a special tasting session at the Port Wine cellars or another option which we will be happy to define together with you.
2. The voucher gift should be used fully at the house, over one or more stay periods. Please note that partial refunds cannot be made.
Each individual donations is limited to €2'500. If a free amount is chosen , we contact the donor to define an appropriate "Thank you" gift.

Extra notes

Please note that you are supporting a private initiative. We cannot provide any advice about tax aspects related to your support. Please contact your local public authorities or a professional adviser if you have any questions in this regard.
