Arabian Room at the Stock Exchange

A glittering view

A magnificent display of late Romantic architecture, combined with the Arabian influence in fashion at the time.

A National Monument, the Palácio da Bolsa (Stock Exchange Palace) is the property and headquarters of the Commercial Association of Porto. The building was designed by Joaquim da Costa Lima in a neoclassical style in 1842. It was built where part of the St Francis Monastery stood before being consumed by a fire in 1832, during the siege of Porto by Napoleon’s army. The remaining Church of St Francis (Igreja de Säo Francisco), the city’s most important Gothic temple, is also a recommended visit point

Situated in the historical centre, it is one of the most visited monuments with the famous Arabian Room being its major highlight. A Cultural and Conference Centre, the Stock Exchange Palace is a venue with unique conditions for hosting events and excellent initiatives. Included in the Urban Wine Route (external link).
